It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Elsie Riggs of Creston North announces her peaceful passing at her home. Elsie passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at the age of 77.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her son, Johnny (Loretta); daughters, Rosalie Bennett (Eric), Jennifer Diamond (Darren), Goldie Pittman (Bill); 6 grandchildren, Courtney (Brandon), Travis (Kelsey), Cameron (Deidre), Kirkland, Kelsey (Dillon) and Brooklyn (Zack); 2 Great grandchildren, Asher Haskell and Natalie Bennett; sisters, Gertrude Crews (Henry), Rose House, Violet Smith (Woodrow) and Maude Hemsing (Jerry); brothers, Les Sheppard (Mary) and Rupert Sheppard (Patsy); special sister in law, Viola Sheppard (Joe) and special nephew, Billy Riggs; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A special thank you to her homecare workers, Goldie Pittman, Gaye-Ann King and Rhonda Emberley and to the Community Health nurses who tended to mom in her last few days.
Elsie was predeceased by husband, Gordon Riggs; parents, Tom and Elizabeth Sheppard; sister, Irene House (Ches); brothers, Arthur Sheppard, Thomas Sheppard (Ruth), Philip Sheppard, Arch Sheppard (Mary), Bill John Sheppard (Bessie) and baby brother Joey Sheppard.
The Riggs Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home on:
Tuesday, January 7th, 2024 at
2:00pm to 4:00pm
7:00pm to 9:00pm
A funeral service will take place at Peninsula Funeral Home on:
Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:00am
Inurnment to take place at St. Hilda’s Anglican Cemetery, Bay l’argent at a later date.
In Elsie’s memory donations may be made to the family or flowers gratefully accepted.
