Doreena Daisy Ball Obituary
Doreena Daisy Ball (nee Clarke), passed peacefully away at her home in St. John’s in the presence of her loving husband during the early hours of February 16, 2025. At the age of 84 years.
Predeceased by her parents: Elliott & Ursula Clarke; brother-in-law: Bob Peters.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 65 years Winslow Ball; son: Shawn (Jennifer) Ball; daughter: Arlene Ball; grandchildren: Michael (Amanda) Ball, Emily (Tanya & Ryan) Ball; great-grandson: Thomas Ball; siblings: Media (Bob) Peters, Carole (Geoff) Feasey, Oral (Phyllis) Clarke, Harry (Judy) Clarke. As well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, numerous friends and students over the years.
Doreena’s love of God and his Promises provided her the direction to become a teacher who taught along side Winslow for 30 Years in the Pentecostal school system. Here she devoted her time to teaching, caring and encouraging all the many students that were happy to be in her class in primary school. She taught Sunday School and gave of her time to many Children’s Outreach programs throughout her life until physically she could not do anymore. By 12 years old she was playing Piano for Church Services and continued for many years. Playing Piano or Hammond Organ and singing in Choirs for the Churches she attended.
Doreena was overjoyed when Michael and Amanda announced they were having a child praying for them every day. When Thomas was born her face would light up for pictures, video calls and when she met him for the first-time during Christmas when he was 2 months old. Her words to describe Thomas were “perfect blessing”.
Our Family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Doctors and Staff of the Ross Family Medical Clinic, The Caregivers from Comfort Home Care, especially Rachel and Tobi. Also, the Amazing Paramedics of the Community Paramedicine Program.
