With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Doreen Edith Lipsett (nee: Rose) at Matthews House Hospice, on March 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Doreen was the beloved wife of Lorne Lipsett and a devoted mother to Sheila (Richard) Bell, David and Janet (James) Scott. She was a proud grandmother to Gavin (Laura), Dylan (Brittney), Alex (Nicole), and Amanda (Jordan), and a cherished great-grandmother to her great granddaughters Emilia and Maysen.
Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Janet (Hume) Rose, sister, Norma (Bill Cutler). She will be dearly missed by her brother and sister in-laws: Lorna (Don Fergusson), Laverne (Nora) Lipsett, Reg (Rhona) Lipsett, all predeceased. Marg (predeceased Norie Patterson), Norman (Mary) Lipsett, Cal (Judy) Lipsett, and Noval (Karen) Lipsett. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, South Lake Hospital, and Matthews House Hospice for their care and support.
Doreen’s family was her greatest joy, and her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and many cherished memories. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry her spirit with them forever. Forever remembered in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham, (905-936-3477) on Friday March 28, 2025, from 10 am-11:30am immediately followed by the service. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Cliffside Hall.
