Doreen Driesman
Obituary
DRIESMAN, Doreen – Doreen passed away peacefully in North York, Ontario on Thursday 06 March 2025, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife for 54 years of the late John. Loving mother of David and Janet, and adoring grandmother to Victoria, Devin and Georgia. Cherished sister of June Ireson, and life long friend of Norma Ladds. Doreen is survived and dearly missed by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doreen graduated from Western in 1954 from their Music Programme and then went to Alma College Teacher’s College. She taught Kindergarten at Lorne Ave Public School before she married John in 1957. She was a loving mother to David and Janet and chose to stay home to raise her children.
Doreen was a keen traveller and lived for friends and family and had a large social circle in London through May Court, her Book Club, and beloved Badminton friends. Summers were spent at the family cottage at Lorne Beach, which was a focal point for gatherings with friends and family for 40 years. Doreen lived for her family and friends, and maintained many, cherished, life long friendships which sustained her greatly through Covid and the last few years in long term care.
As requested by Doreen, her cremation will be followed by a celebration of life service at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, on Saturday, 15th March 2025 at 2pm.. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre (formerly London Regional Cancer Program) would be appreciated.
