1938 – 2025
Donna Kathleen Cook (nee Carter) passed away on January 29th, 2025 at St Michael’s Hospice after a short battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years Ronald Cook and her daughter the Rev Kathleen Edmunds. She is survived by her son Steven, her siblings Velda Beckett, Dave and Nancy Carter, Joy Mitton, Dan and Keren Carter, her son-in-law Mark Edmunds and her special grandchildren Hannah Edmunds and Mel Breen, Thomas Edmunds, Megan Edmunds and Greg Patton.
Born in Turtle Mountain District of Manitoba she was part of the silent generation. The family moved to the west coast in 1948 and settled in North Burnaby where she met her future husband at the Egg and I Cafe. Donna worked in a bank for most of her career first as a teller then running the cash cage. She often spoke with fondness of the vacations at Madrona Beach with her grandkids and the many cruises she did with her siblings. She was happiest with the whole family seated around the dining room table.
A special thanks to the staff and volunteers at St Michael’s Hospice for their care in keeping mom comfortable during her final days.
