Peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on December 8, 2024
surrounded by her loving family, of Constance (Connie)Joan Marie
Doucette (nee Reeves) aged 83 years of Mount Stewart and formerly of
South Freetown. Survived by her Children Lenny (Maxine) and LaVerne
(Shannon) MacKinnon. Cherished Gram of Katrina (Cory),
Brent(Samantha),Alyssa(Zac), Ben, and Bryce (Rae-Anne). Great Gram to
Myleigh and Levi MacKinnon. Siblings Wayne, Bill (Jean), Brian
(Karen), Jimmy (Kathy), Bernard(Darlene), Cynthia (Justin) Lawless,
and Mary (Sharon) Reeves, Sisters-in-law Winnifred Kelly, Jeannie
Doucette and Brother-in-law Harvey Vissey. Fondly remembered by many
nieces, nephews and grand-neices and nephews.
Connie was predeceased by her Husband Joe in 1983, Parents
Everett and Margaret(McQuaid), siblings Carol, Donna Mae (Kenny)
Gallant, and Donnie (Pauline). She is also predeceased by
Sisters-in-Law Jodi and Anna Marie Reeves, and Brothers-in-Law
Clifford, Bill and Leonard Doucette and Ivan Kelly.
Connie was a beloved school teacher for 35 years. She was an
incredibly active community member and served on many committees. She
served for many years on the Board of Directors for Co-Operators of
Canada, Credit Union Central of PEI, and the Morell Credit Union. She
was also a longtime member of the Mount Stewart Community Council and
also served as Mayor of the community.
She made many life long friends, and traveled worldwide with
many of them, as well as her children and grandchildren and other
members of her family through the years.
We would like to thank the staff of Andrews of Charlottetown
and Red Rock Inn at the PE Home for their wonderful care of Mom. A
very special Thank You for the wonderful care our family received this
past week as we stayed by Mom’s side. You all hold a special
place in our hearts.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home
for visiting hours on Tuesday,, December 10th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 11th with funeral mass
from St.. Andrew’s Church, Mt. Stewart at 2:00 p.m.
Interment in St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to St.
Andrew’s Parish Cemetery or the Alzheimer Society. On-line
