Obituary of Bob Shipp
Shipp, Robert Ernest “Bob” passed away peacefully at the Aylmer Retirement Residence on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in his 97th year. Husband of the late Inez(Wingrove) Shipp(1999) and the late Betty(Fugard-Howey) Shipp(2012). Dear father of Karen Down(Michael) and Barry Shipp. Grandfather of Roxanne(Scott), Travis(Jacquie), Robin, Corey and Chad(Trish). Great-grandfather of Lucy, Ruby, Lauren and Brady. He will be missed by his sisters-in-law, his friend Fran & family and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sons Kevin and Calvin and sister Olive Sheppard(Fred). Born in Malahide Township, Ontario on January 9, 1929, son of the late Ernest and Ada(Hammond) Shipp. Bob retired from the Public Works department for the Town of Aylmer. He previously worked at the Elgin Co-op and was the milk tester for both Glovers and Aylmer Dairy. He was very proud of having his milk testing papers. Bob loved spending time outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or boating. A dedicated volunteer firefighter, he was also an active member of Aylmer Ducks Unlimited and St. Paul’s United Church. Bob generously shared his gift for wood carving, donating many of his creations to Ducks Unlimited, Wetland Susies, and other local organizations. He will be remembered for his deep love of community and his generous spirit.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Cremation-burial, Aylmer Cemetery. Donations to Ducks Unlimited would be appreciated. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
