Memories:
– Growing up, we all thought thumbs were supposed to be part of a photo
– I’m only driving too fast because I can’t see the signs!
– She loved music, the happier, the better
– She was Dad’s good luck charm
– She was an avid reader, Loved crosswords
– Mother, waitress, student, teacher, salesperson…excellent at all, she made it look easy. Proud and humble. (loooove this)
– “Walk over to The People” On a beach walk with her grandkids, she opted to stop at a bench half-way to the end. She could not be convinced to go further and instructed the kids to carry on and come back to her. She pointed to some posts in the distance that she couldn’t see clearly and thought they were people. The kids still call those posts “the people”
– Going for a bike ride was code for smoking a cigarette
– Grandkids called her “Nanny”
– On a trip to Universal, she agreed to ride all the coasters with grandson, Connor. She agreed to go on the Rocket and did not realize they were getting the front row! (cue the shock and terror-filled screams when they plummeted to the ground)
– Mom was the centrepoint of the family, where she was, that was home.
– Mom couldn’t remember movie names all that well, but she always had some kind of code… one of our favorites was “Late Afternoon Tea.” It took quite awhile for us to figure out she meant “Remains of the Day”
