Parks, Anna “Beryl” (nee Brown) –
With great sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our mom.
On Sunday, March 9, 2025, our beloved mom died at the age of 97 years old. Mom would have been 98 years old on March 29, 2025.
Mom was born in Richmond, Ontario on March 29, 1927 to Arthur and Norma (nee Green) Brown. Mom married the love of her life (Orville) Weldon Parks on June 23, 1951. Dad predeceased mom on September 27, 1995.
Mom was a devoted mother to her five children, Cherylann (Donnie) Kenny, Laurie Lee (Dan) Czempiel, Larry (Annika) Parks, Penny Lou (Wade) Raley and Donna Lynn (Danny) Bouchey.
Mom was a proud grandmother to Brent (Barb) Kenny, Erin (Scott) Rogers, Allyson (Adam) Field, Jessica (Justin) Nistico, Adam Wood, Dustin (Marita) Parks, Megan (Noam) Parks, Kalina (Roy) Boettcher, Kelsea (Kory) McAndrew, Zach (Kathryn) Raley, Jacob (Isabelle) Raley, Alex (Ali) Bouchey, Braeden (Courtney) Bouchey and Dylan Bouchey. Mom was proud to be a great grandmother to Brittnee Kenny, Declan Kenny, Ethan Rogers, Nolan Rogers, Lucas Field, Teagan Field, Koby Wood, Jace Nistico, Peyton Wood, Scarlett Wood, Madison McAndrew, Hannah McAndrew, Sophia McAndrew, Lillian Boettcher, and Haley Boettcher, Owen Raley, Colin Parks and Emily Parks.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Norma Brown, her brothers Lorne (Helen) Brown, Garfield (Noreen) Brown, Jack (Eileen) Brown and Wayne Brown. Predeceased by our father’s parents Orville and Ermel (Faulkner) Parks, dad’s brothers Dalton (Barb Dillon) Parks, Rodney Parks, Dwyla (Ernest) Toomath, Lorraine (Billy) McKay and Romelda (Matthew) Irwin, Dolores (Bill) Hayes, Basil Parks. Mom’s surviving sister-in-laws are Marguerite (Glen, deceased) Scott and Karon (Victor) Mills.
Mom cherished all her many nieces and nephews.
Mom was a stay at home mom. She was the secretary and bookkeeper for our father’s electrical business which ran out of home. Mom was involved in a lot of the Stittsville community events and organizations during the 60s and 70s. She was a devoted parishioner to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Richmond, ON where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School until she married our father who grew up in Stittsville, ON and was a parishioner at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Stittsville, ON which mom attended for many years before becoming ill. She volunteered a lot at the church functions. Mom was voted Mother of the Year in the 70s. She was a survivor of gum cancer, skin cancer and a serious blood infection that almost took her life in January 2010. She was a true survivor. While growing up mom enjoyed playing in a ladies’ baseball league. She enjoyed skating, skiing, dancing, singing, broomball, pancake racing, snowmobiling, golfing, bowling, playing cards, knitting, baking, pickling, gardening, crocheting, loved going for long Saturday and Sunday drives with our dad and having fun with family and friends. Mom was always up for a party. Hail! Hail! The gang’s all here!
Visitation will be held at TUBMAN FUNERAL HOME – GARDEN CHAPEL, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, ON K2H 8H7 on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at TUBMAN FUNERAL HOME – GARDEN CHAPEL, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in the summertime at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Richmond. ON.
Reception to follow after the funeral service at TUBMAN FUNERAL HOME – GARDEN CHAPEL, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, ON.
For those who wish, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Stittsville. ON.
The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend.
