Alcide Raymond Doucette
June 19, 1942-January 17, 2025
Age 82 of Hubbard’s Point, passed away on January 17, 2025 at Nakile Home for Special Care, Glenwood. Born in Hubbard’s Point, he was a son of the late John Alexander and Anne Regina (Melanson) Doucette.
Alcide worked for the Department of Transportation. He loved gardening, deer hunting and kiack fishing. In his younger years he worked for Pepsi as a delivery driver.
Alcide is survived by his loving wife, Pat; son, Brian (Lisa), Belleville; grandchildren, Alex and Julia; sister, Cora (Joe), Pubnico. He was predeceased by siblings, Leonard in infancy, Louise, Helen, Benjamin, Bernie and Remie.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 in Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-de-Ruisseau, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. A burial will follow the mass in the parish cemetery. Donations in Alcide’s memory may be made to Nakile Home for Special Care, Saint Anne’s Cemetery Fund, Ste. Anne-de-Ruisseau or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
