Albert “Bert” William Andrews Obituary
Albert “Bert” William Andrews
November 11, 1943 – May 12, 2025
Albert (Bert) William Andrews, born November 11, 1943, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 12, 2025, at Allendale in Milton, ON. He was the loving husband of Lauraine (Laurie) for almost 57 years. He was the father of Angela and Ken Stark, Kurtis and Lara Andrews, and Mike and Valerie Brouwers. He was affectionately known as “Poppa Bert” to his grandchildren Emmaline, Sloan, Jacob and Boyd Stark, Eliza, Adela and William Andrews, and Richelle and Jill Brouwers. He was the brother of Ruth and Dennis Dorrington and the brother-in-law of Sandy and Gloria Ewen.
Bert made many friendships during his life, from his birthplace in Norwood, ON, to the Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph. He then worked in the agrichemical industry with stops in Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Houston and Oakville before moving to Milton to pursue his true passion of farming by founding Andrews Scenic Acres in 1980. In Milton, he would become a community icon and a leader in agriculture, food education and farm tourism. He was thrilled to be inducted into the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame on June 9, 2024.
Old farmers never die,
Rest in Peace, Bert.
