In Loving Memory of Abdallah (Aby) Kerba (1937-2025)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Abdallah (Aby) Kerba, at the age of 88. He leaves behind his daughters, Jessie (departed Costa) and Mariane (Andrew), as well as his cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Paulina, Victor, and Vincent.
His brothers the late Joseph (Lily) and Robert (Jill)along with his nieces and nephews.
Aby moved to Canada from Alexandria, Egypt, 60 years ago.
He built a fulfilling life for himself and his family and took great pride in his accomplishments.
Aby had a passion for life. He loved to travel, enjoyed playing basketball and watching hockey, cherished fishing and music, and savored good food. His greatest treasures were his family and the lifelong friends he considered his brothers. He was happiest when surrounded by them, often sharing his favorite saying: “La Vie est Belle.”
A hardworking man, Aby managed his store “Épicerie La Charcutière” for over 20 years, where he connected with countless customers and friends. He had a knack for striking up conversations everywhere he went, and his knowledge of current affairs, coupled with his charm, drew people in. Fluent in several languages, Aby was personable and diplomatic, always quick to share a laugh and create a joyful atmosphere. He enjoyed music and concerts, regularly attending festivals downtown right up until the onset of COVID-19.
Aby lived life to the fullest, always on his terms and with no apologies. His spirit will be profoundly missed, but we take solace in knowing he was ready to spread his wings.
We love you, Daddy. Thank you for everything.

À la douce mémoire d’Abdallah (Aby) Kerba (1937-2025)
C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre père bien-aimé, Abdallah (Aby) Kerba, à l’âge de 88 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil ses filles, Jessie (feu Costa) et Mariane (Andrew), ainsi que ses petits-enfants chéris, Thomas, Paulina, Victor et Vincent.
Ses frères, feu Joseph (Lily) et Robert (Jill), ainsi que ses nièces et neveux.
Aby a quitté Alexandrie, en Égypte, pour s’installer au Canada il y a 60 ans.
Il a bâtis une vie épanouissante pour lui et sa famille et était très fier de ses accomplissements.
Aby était passionné par la vie. Il aimait voyager, jouer au basket et regarder le hockey, il apprécier la pêche et la bonne musique, et savourer la bonne cuisine. Sa famille et ses amis de toujours, qu’il considérait comme ses frères, étaient ses plus grands trésors. C’est entouré d’eux qu’il était le plus heureux, partageant souvent son dicton favori : “La Vie est Belle” :
Travailleur acharné, Aby a géré son magasin “Épicerie La Charcutière” pendant plus de 20 ans, où il a noué des liens avec d’innombrables clients et amis. Il avait le don d’engager la conversation partout où il allait, et sa connaissance de l’actualité, alliée à son charme, attirait les gens. Parlant couramment plusieurs langues, Aby était avenant et diplomate, toujours prompt à un rire et à créer une atmosphère joyeuse. Il aimait la musique et les concerts et assistait régulièrement à des festivals en ville, jusqu’au début de la COVID-19.
Aby vivait pleinement sa vie, toujours selon ses propres termes et sans s’excuse.
Il nous manquera énormément et nous trouverons des réconfort en sachant qu’il veillera toujours sur nous.
Nous t’aimons, papa. Nous te remercions pour tout.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à l’Église orthodoxe St-George de Montréal ou à l’Association de Alzheimer peuvent être faits.
