Obituary for
Nicholas “Nick” Shkrobot
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas “Nick” Shkrobot, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, February 24, 2025, in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 88 years.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia “Pat” Shkrobot (née Dunbar); children, Rob (Pearl) and Brian (Rhonda); grandchildren, Shayla, Lauren, Allison, Lucas and Jesse; sister, Vicky Allen; brothers, Bill (Jennie) Shkrobot and Peter Shkrobot; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Nick was predeceased by his mother, Dora Shkrobot (née Babichuk); father, John Shkrobot; sister-in-law, Vicky Shkrobot; and brother-in-law, Cliff Allen.
Always ready with a genuine smile and a kind heart, Nick was known for his love of the lake, great enjoyment of hunting and fishing, and above all his love and devotion to his family.
We would like to thank the staff of Unit 54 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the many other healthcare providers from the Sturgeon and University of Alberta hospitals for their compassion in caring for our father.
To honour Nick’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Park Memorial Reception Centre, 11015 – 101 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick’s name to a charity of your choice would be graciously appreciated.
