In Celebration of
Yvon Lemire
August 7, 1949 –
July 9, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvon Lemire just a month short of his 74th birthday, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Born on August 7th, 1949 in Sherbrooke, he made his life in the West Island in the 1980’s. He started his career in the pool industry at Citadel, later on moving to Aquadel. He ended his career with Club Piscine Pierrefonds having founded and operated the retail store for over 25 years. He was an influential leader and mentor to many. He worked passionately alongside his son and wife and contributed until a month before his passing. When not being the “boss”, he absolutely loved spending time at his cottage in the townships on his boat, accompanied by his family. He also loved spending time alongside his countless hockey friends enjoying locker room talk.
He married Mirna Brancacci in 1983 and had their son, Matthew (Melissa Canales). During his previous marriage he had 3 children, Nancy, Marie-Helène and Jonathan. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Mathias, Laurence, Matteo and Max, his brothers Claude, André, Jean (France Thibault) and Guy. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews and their children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Therese Houde and Vitale Lemire.
A special thanks to the staff at the CHUM who cared for Yvon and his family.
Visitation will be held at the Belvedere Funeral Complex on Sunday, July 16 from noon to 3 p.m. A service in the Church will follow the visits, time and place to come.
