Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late William “Billy” Richard Janes announce his passing on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL in his 80th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 27 years: Diane; children: Maureen, Linda (Mike), and Larry; grandchildren: Kayla (Bobby), Brandon (Robin), and Matthew (Holly); great-grandchildren: Noah, William, Aaliyah, Jonah, and Henry; sisters: Patsy, and Bernetta; brother: Baxter (Edna); pop’s fur-baby: Daisy; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Billy is predeceased by his parents: Joshua and Marjorie Janes; sisters: Ruby, and Pansy; brothers: Eric, Angus, and Craven; sisters-in-law: Eunice, and Sherry; and brothers-in-law: Clifford, and Ron.
At his request cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Interment to take place at Mount Patricia Cemetery on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023 at 1 PM with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Billy’s memory to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society (alzheimer.ca/en).
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital-3A for their kindness, care, and compassion shown during this difficult time. It will always be greatly appreciated.
