Obituary for
Walter Graham Forsyth
Today our family grieves the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and best friend.
It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Walter Graham Forsyth, on January 30, 2023, at the age of 74 after a short, intense and courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind, to celebrate his accomplishments, his beloved wife of 51 ½ years Lynda Forsyth (nee Scott); his children Sean Forsyth, Shannon Noseworthy (Chuck), Scott Forsyth (Lori) and Kara Latimer. Cherished Papa to Andrew, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Charlotte, Abigail and Maddison, as well as to great granddaughter Alice. Also mourning him at this time is his step-brother Danilo Dettoni, his sisters in-law Sandra Cornell (George) and Valerie Matte and his nieces and nephews. He leave behind many close friends in both Timmins and New Port Richey. He is predeceased by his father Walter Forsyth and his mother Helen Forsyth- Dettoni (Danilo Senior).
Following a career with Kidd Creek Mines he worked as Maintenance Supervisor at Timmins and District Hospital. He was a Shriner, and a proud member and past Worshipful Master of the Golden Beaver Masonic Lodge, an active member of the Dante Club, of the Catholic Church community and the Timmins Legion Pipe Band where he played both the bagpipes and the drums. Graham was also a leader/trainer with Boy Scouts Canada and commanded his own cub pack. He loved music, playing guitar and serenading the crowd via Karaoke with his friends in Gulf Harbour. He also loved hitting the open road on his Harley. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his sarcastic wit and his wonderful sense of humor. He shared many laughs with his friends and family and always brought a smile to the faces of all he came in contact with. Special thanks go out to the Physicians and Nurses on the Medical floor, as well as the Palliative Care and Respite Care teams at Timmins and District Hospital.
The memorial service will take place at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Miron-Wilson Chapel (Fr Michael officiating). A reception will follow in the lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Timmins Food Bank or the Canadian Cancer Society. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home, Cremation and reception centre 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins ON

  1. My deepest condolences to the Forsyth family and everyone who knew and loved Graham. I appreciated working with him, his leadership and guidance through many tough projects. There was never a dull moment and he always had a humorous way of putting things into perspective. Miss him already.
