With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Walter on April 27, 2023, at 93 years of age. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Smith) with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage. Loving father of David Gerard (Dawn), Tom Gerard, and the late Elaine Eskritt (Johnathan). Treasured grandpa of Shane Eskritt, Heather Eskritt, Jillian Gerard and Kaitlin Gerard. Dear brother of the late Marion McGarvey (late Jim). Brother-in-law of the late Marvin, Chuck and the late Mike. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Walter retired from Chrysler after many years of service. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus # 3305; Es Retirees Social Club; Chrysler retirees 5 pin bowling; Es District Horticultural Society. He was an avid gardener; he loved his Toronto Blue Jay’s and the Maple Leaf’s!
Walter is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North, Es on Monday from 6-9 p.m. K of C Prayers at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will take place from the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
