Obituary for Violet McNabb (Roth)
Violet was born to Ferdinand and Teenie Roth on May 19, 1935 and passed away on March 3, 2023 at the age of 87.
Vi attended Galahad and Forestburg schools before she went to Henderson Secretarial School in Calgary.
Fred courted Vi while in Calgary. They married October 23, 1953 and were happily married for 57 years.
Vi took 9 years of piano and really enjoyed playing. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and visiting with family.
In later years she played a lot of crib and was hard to beat. She was in Killam Continuing Care for over 13 years. She became good friends and loved to tease and joke around with the staff. She loved doing puzzles while she lived there.
Vi is survived by her children Eileen, Dennis (Michelle), Wes (Wendy), and Lynda; 13 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Vi was predeceased by her parents Ferdinand and Teenie Roth; husband Fred; daughter Deanna; son Wade; sons-in-law Don, Terry; granddaughter Peggy; great-granddaughters Alexandra, Renesmee; brother Alfred (Alvina); grandson Kyle.
As per Vi’s request there will be no funeral. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations in Vi’s memory can be made to the Killam Continuing Care unit or a charity of donors choice.
