Obituary
It is with the deepest gratitude that we are honoured to celebrate the beautiful life of Veronica “Vera” Mary White. At the tender age of 96, our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed peacefully in her sleep during the early hours of the final day of 2022 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville. We are blessed to have experienced a full life with her — a life of laughter, peace, joy, sorrow and so much love. Anyone who knew Mrs. White knows what a strong and loving matriarch she truly was, and what a legacy she has left.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jack White; sons: Donny White and Bobby White; and sons-in-law: Freeman Chin, Bruce Raymond, and Frank Quilty.
Vera is survived by: children: Jackie (Jacqueline), Cecelia “Sis” Chin, Joanne Quilty, Majalla Raymond, and Vera (Melvin) McCann; daughters-in-law: Debbie White and Jean White; as well as a large circle of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Following her wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 2nd from 7:00-9:00 PM at Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd at 10:00 AM from St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street. Interment to follow at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery.
