Verna Grace Grant, wife of the late Angus Grant of Doaktown, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 83.
Born in Blissfield, NB, she was the daughter of the late Perley and Annie (Morehouse) Gilks. She was a retired Bartender, homemaker and a member of Royal Canadian Branch #23.
She is survived by her daughter Heather Barrett (Paul) of Fredericton; her sons, Stephen Kazamer-Ward (Gizella) of Miramichi and Brent Ward (Lisa Flemming) of Rusagonis; her sister, Olga Green (Late Fulton) of Blissfield; her grandchildren, Monique Flemming (Matt), Justin Barrett (Lauren) Joska Connolly (Christina McGraw), Anya Robichaud (Greg L’Huillier) and Melissa Player (Mitch) and her nieces Vanessa and Sonya.
She is predeceased by her husband, parents, son Sherwin Ward and granddaughter Sara-Jo Ward.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation. The Funeral Service will be held at Davidson’s Funeral Home, Doaktown at a date and time to be announced.
In her memory, donations to Legion Branch #23, Doaktown would be appreciated by the family.
