Vera Bonita Maloney (Nee Rogers) passed away peacefully on June 8 th , 2023.
She is pre-deceased by her mother Ethel Hart, father Graham Rogers, step-mom Laura Rogers, sisters
Gertie Maloney & Joyce Brentnall, and grandson Jeff Molloy who she absolutely adored.
Leaving to mourn, is her husband of 66 years and the love of her life, Clarence Maloney. She will be
dearly missed by her children, Jim (Mabel), Paul (Rose), Brenda (Brendan), Carolyn (Ed), Pauline (Ben),
Janice (Harold), Mike (Sandra), Jacki (Todd), Cindy, and son in-law Jerome; grandchildren: Kara &
Amanda, Candace & Cassandra, Mark, Eddie & Krista, Jaclyn & Kristopher & Samantha, Andrew, Julia &
Jenna, Courtney & Melissa, and Noah. Along with her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren will also
feel her loss, Emma & Matt & Izzy, Aidan & Quinn, Jacob & Ava & Chloe, Lexi & Kyla, Anna, Belle & Noah,
Rylee & Andrew, Mason & Levi & Colbie & Gunner & Kingsley & Cash, Brooklyn & Deegan, MacKenzie &
Adalyn, Peyton & Brycen, and Gavin & Evelyn. She also leaves behind her siblings, Norma, Wanda,
Arlene, Patsy, Hughie, Merle and Cal.
Vera was born on July 14, 1937 in Lady Cove, NL and was raised in Weybridge on Random Island. At a
young age, she pursued her career in Buchans General Hospital as a nurse’s aid. That’s where she met
her soul mate, Clarence. It was love at first sight. Together they created a beautiful life and raised nine
children. Vera will always be remembered for her unconditional love for her family. She was a pillar of
strength and support, always offering her unwavering love, guidance, and a listening ear to each
member of her family.
Vera was renowned for her delicious cooking. Her kitchen was a haven of delicious aromas and mouth-
watering flavours. Her family and friends were treated to countless unforgettable meals, lovingly
prepared, bringing warmth and happiness to all who gathered around her beautifully set table.
Vera will forever be remembered as the sweetest lady, whose genuine and kind-hearted nature
impacted everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She was a beautiful woman who radiated
elegance with the way she dressed and carried herself no matter what she was doing. Her legacy of love,
hard work, and culinary mastery will continue to inspire all the generations beneath her. Although she is
no longer with us in physical form, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Rest in peace, our beautiful angel, and thank you for the love and light you brought into our lives.
We would like to thank The Fountain – Hollet’s Park nursing staff who have treated her with the upmost
respect and kindness.
The family is asking for no flowers upon request but a donation can be made in her honor to the charity
of your choice.
In honor of Vera’s memory, a celebration of life will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Badger on June
10 th, 2023. We invite all that knew her to gather together, share stories, and reminisce on the beautiful
moments she brought into our lives.
