At Pine Grove Nursing Home Mrs. Velda Chase of Fredericton
passed away on June 19th, 2023. She
was 84. Born in Prince William NB she was the daughter of
the late John and Annie (Lawrence) Kitchen.
Velda was a longtime standing member of the Marysville
Baptist Church. She was involved with many church potlucks
and also did janitorial work for many years at the church with her
late husband Earl. Velda was on many bus tours with the
Gospelaires, she enjoyed the suppers at Greenhill Lake Camp.
She loved her family, especially the Chase family
gatherings. Many people wouldn’t realize, Velda
had many scrapbooks of weddings, births and anniversaries of family
and friends.
Velda would rarely be seen without a camera around her neck
and would never hesitate to take as many pictures as she
could. She enjoyed crafting, cross stitching and quilting
and anything covered in plastic canvas. Many people might
have a plastic covered gift of Velda’s.
She will be missed by several brothers and sisters-in-law,
nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased
by her Husband Earl Chase as well as her much loved cat
Rusty.
A special thanks to all the wonderful staff and nurses of
Pine Grove Nursing Home for the care and dedication shown and given to
Velda during her time there.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday June
22nd, 2023, at 2 PM, from Prince William
Cemetery. All are welcome to join.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Marysville
Baptist Church or Greenhill Lake Camp.
