Passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness, in the presence of his loving family at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Sunday, June 4, 2023, Thomas “Tom” Mercer of Harbour Grace South, age 79 years.
Predeceased by parents: George and Janie; sister: Lorraine; brothers: Lewis and Graham; parents-in-law: Ernest and Phoebe Parsons; sister-in-law: Shirley (Eric) White.
Leaving to mourn, wife: Daphne; daughter: Janice (Steve) Lemieux, Ottawa, ON; brothers: Wayne (Dorothy) and Clayton (Greta), both of Upper Island Cove, and Lester (Gloria), Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Maude Mercer and Jean Mercer, both of Upper Island Cove, and Daisy (Glenn) Marginson, Harbour Grace; special cousin: Linda Mercer, Harbour Grace; special niece: Tina Antle, Victoria, and many other dear relatives and friends.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Anusha Karumanithy and the nurses and staff of Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion for the exceptional care provided to Tom these past few months.
Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Thursday, June 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 9 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Funeral service to take place on Friday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Harbour Grace South. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace South.
