In Loving Memory of our Beloved Mom
Theresa Diguer, an incredible soul who filled our lives with love, kindness, and unwavering support, passed away peacefully at the age of 90. She was a constant, courageous, and kind mom, grandmaman, and great-grandmaman, who loved her family deeply. Predeceased by her devoted husband Hervé, she is lovingly remembered by her children Carol Anne (Sid), Richard, Philip (Jackie), Christine (Michael), Elaine (David), and Lorraine (Duncan), her grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Alyssa, Sarah, Andrea, Will, and Jack, with their loved partners, and her great-grandchildren Austin and Avery. Her presence was quiet, warm, with a listening ear. She had unflappable grit and a playful sense of humour. Those qualities we felt each time she unfailingly ferried everyone to their school, sports, and music events, with some snacks to share and a book to read while she waited. In her later years, she traveled widely with Dad to Japan, Australia, Africa, the United States, and Europe, and for a few years they enjoyed a bustling life in Manhattan. She valued her independence (who wouldn’t after raising six children) and, until recently, drove her car, filled its tank, cooked her own meals, did her own shopping, read the local and national news each day, and keenly observed and conversed on the world around her. Grateful for her unwavering love and the lessons she lived, her kindness and resilience will continue to guide us. Thank you to the Ottawa General Intensive Care team for their compassionate care. In accordance with her wishes, there will be funeral services with immediate family. In honour of her lifetime commitment to helping others, donations to the Cancer Society of Canada or the Hospice at Maycourt would be greatly appreciated.
