Obituary For Theresa Engele (nee Niekamp)
Theresa Engele, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Carmel, SK, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 73 years.
Theresa was born on December 12, 1949, to Clemens and Katie (nee Kiefer). She was born at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Humboldt, SK. She grew up on the family farm which was north of St. Gregor, SK.
Theresa started working as a nanny then worked in the kitchen at the hospital.
She married Allan Engele on July 31, 1971, and a few years later they started a family and moved to Carmel where the farm life began. This is where Theresa enjoyed gardening and of course loved her flowers.
In the summer of 2004, Theresa and Allan moved to Grande Prairie to be closer to their pride and joy……the grandkids!
Theresa will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Connie Anderson of Grande Prairie, and Corinne (Brad) Boyce of Grande Prairie; her four grandchildren: Jordan Anderson, Erin Anderson, Kyla Boyce, and Emma Boyce; as well as many other extended family members.
She was predeceased by her husband Allan Engele (2004) and son in-law Jason Anderson (2019).
A Celebration of Theresa’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 1:00pm, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28, in Humboldt (324 Main St.).
Memorial donations, which will be gratefully accepted, may be made to the Asthma Society of Canada (401 124 Merton St., Toronto, ON, M4S 2Z2).
