Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Stephen James Murray announces his passing which occurred on February 8, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on September 22, 1969, he was the son of the late Stephen and Beryl (Losier) Murray.
Stephen lived everyday to the fullest and always had a smile on his face. He cherished his time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He looked forward to having an ice-cold beer on the weekends, singing karaoke with his wife Charline and daughter Melanie, and watching football. Stephen loved going to the races in Charlottetown every year with his son Stephen. In his earlier years, he enjoyed spending time at the racetrack where he would spend time jogging the horses, as well as taking care of them, and was known as “Icy”.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of over 30 years, Charline Murray (Bordage), son Stephen Murray (Natalie Reynolds), daughter Melanie Murray, grandchildren Aiden MacCallum and Joshua Murray. Also left to mourn is his brother Kenny Murray, aunt Marjorie Keith, brother-in-law Vincent O’Ree, sister-in-law Kathleen Johnson, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Bobby Murray, sister Judy O’Ree and sister-in-law Rena Murray.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, between the hours of 12:30-1:30 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will follow in the Fundy Chapel at 2:00p.m. Interment will take place on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. All are welcomed.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care and compassion, a sincere thank you to Dr. Mackin and nurses Jennifer and Carolyn.
Donations in Stephen’s memory may be made towards the SPCA or to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
