Sherrie Louise Jillson passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 at the Chatham Kent Hospice. Sherrie was born in 1953 to the late Eugene and Marjorie Peterson in Detroit, Michigan. Sherrie and her loving husband Tim had just celebrated 52 years of marriage and Tim will greatly miss his wonderful wife. She will also be dearly remembered by her daughter Gail Jillson (Jorge) and son Dan Jillson (Lisa) and her grandchildren, Brandon, Sierra, Hunter and Ethan. She is also missed by her four legged companion Maggie. Sherrie is survived by her sisters Sue Thompson (late Bob) Jean Hall (Rick) and is predeceased by brother David Peterson and sister Ruth Casey (Bill). Survived by many brothers and sisters in law. Also survived by her dear friends Sue Rau and Cathy Harback, who will both miss Sherrie’s smile and companionship. Special thanks to friends Phil O’Leary and Bob Sheppard for their support during this difficult time. Sherrie was pivotal in the opening of Dollarama in Wallaceburg and managed the store for 15 years. She enjoyed spending her time crafting, making flower arrangements and crocheting. Traveling with friends and family was important to Sherrie. You could also find her raising support and awareness for the Alzheimer Society and Terry Fox Run. If you would like to continue this in her memory, please consider donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society. Sherrie’s family will be remembering her privately.
