Sherman “Raymond” Johnson
1947-2023
With heavy hearts, we wish to announce the passing of Sherman
“Raymond” Johnson, on March 19, 2023 at the Saint John
Regional Hospital, Saint John NB. He was surrounded by his
step-daughter, Pam, his son-in-law, Mike and granddaughter, Allie. He
was 75 years old.
Ray, as known to his family and friends, worked for the DOT
for 30 plus years as a plow operator and truck driver. He bravely
battled cancer and a leg amputation due to blood circulation
issues.
Ray was born in Digby NS on May 7, 1947, but made New
Brunswick his home at an early age. He made Ghost Road his home for
the last 40 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Josephine
Johnson as well as brother Billy of Marshalltown, Digby NS and his
partner of 41 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Brown. He is survived
by his brother Clifford Johnson of Bocabec and his step-children,
Robert, Donna, Darren, Debra and Pamela.
Cremation will take place under the care of St. George
Funeral Home (506-755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There
will be no ceremonial services as per Ray’s
request.
Should any donations be considered, please makes them to
Charlotte County Cancer in Ray’s memory.
