Sandra Heather Bohl
On May 27, Sandy lost her seventeen-year battle with cancer. She leaves behind her partner of twenty years, Jack Denneboom, her daughters Teil (Jason Kline), Erin (Judah Hume Oakes), Kara (Craig Loupelle), her sister Diane (Kamal Ramez), 11 grandchildren, and Jack’s extended family.
Sandy was born in London, England on June 19, 1943, to Winifred Pollock and Harry Bohl. Harry was a Canadian soldier and met Winifred at a dance while stationed in England. Harry brought his war bride, Sandy and Sandy’s older sister, Diane back to Canada in 1946.
Sandy fought her cancer journey bravely and through that fight she skied in Vail, Whistler and Courchevel. She boated in Muskoka, the Mediterranean, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean, and enjoyed numerous trips to Europe. During and before her illness, Sandy was at the Granite Club almost daily playing tennis, and in the front row at every aerobics class offered. And until recently, she continued the work that she loved. Sandy was a successful model and actor, a career that ran for more than fifty years. She was on book and magazine covers, in numerous TV commercials, TV series and movies.
Sandy had many dear friends in Toronto, Muskoka, Collingwood and at Wyndemere Country Club in Naples, Florida. It was a reflection on how she gave to others that over the last few difficult years her friends visited, brought lunches and dinners, and were always there for her.
When her daughters were young, Sandy enjoyed summers in Muskoka and winters in Collingwood. Waterskiing, snow skiing, tennis…Sandy was always on the move.
Thanks to Sunnybrook Hospital’s Drs. Anthony Lott and Lise Hyunh, and the many others who helped Sandy over so many years. Thanks also to Home Care and Campbell House hospice in Collingwood.
A special thanks to Sandy’s friends everywhere that celebrated her over the last many, many years. She loved her times with every one of you wherever and whenever those experiences were.
