Obituary
Ruby P. Steeves, 95 of Indian Mountain, NB, passed away peacefully within the comforts of her home on Monday, July 10, 2023. Born in Stilesville, she was the daughter of the late W. Allan and J. Pearl (Horsman) Briggs.
Ruby started her working career at Co-op Record St. as a waitress, then worked at Magnetic Hill Restaurant in the 60’s, retiring from Housekeeping at The Moncton Hospital (1988) after 24 years service. She was a longtime member of Visions United Church and a former member of the UCW. She loved to sew and cook for family and friends. Ruby was a very talented seamstress and took great joy in knitting for her family and friends. She moved from Stilesville to Indian Mountain in May of 2004 to be closer to her family.
Ruby will be sadly missed by her loving daughter, Cindy Horsman (late Carl) and her loving son, Allan Steeves; her grand fur baby, Calvin that visited her daily; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Evans M. Steeves (2006); sisters, Lettie Renton, Myrtle Rogers, Beatrice Kelly and brother, Fred; son in law, Carl. Ruby is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Public Graveside Service to be held at Stilesville Cemetery on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 3:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Shawn Redden leading the service.
Ruby’s arrangements have been entrusted into the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995).
