Obituary
PARISSE, Rosa (nee Mascioli), Rosina
January 14, 1926 – January 1, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved mother, nonna, and bisnonna at the age of 96.
Beloved wife of the late Dino Parisse (2012). Loving mother of Sabatino & Diane Parisse, Giovanni & Antonietta Parisse, and Enia & Philip Fiorillo. Proud and cherished nonna to April & Paolo Sabatini, Simon Parisse & Victoria Tokarski, Caroline & Bill Szolga, Alexandra & Kevin DaSilva, Michael Parisse, and Emily, Erica & Erin Fiorillo. Cherished bisnonna to Eleanor & Oscar Sabatini and Henry Szolga.
Our mother was a beautiful soul, an extraordinary woman with strength and perseverance and a heart of gold. A remarkable lady.
Born in Cocullo L’Aquila, Italy, Rosa was the loving daughter of the late Sabatino & Annatavillia Mascioli (Italy) and daughter-in-law of the late Pasquale & Giovanna Parisse (Italy). Beloved sister & sister-in-law of the late Domenico & Ivetta Mascioli (North Bay) & the late Giovanni & Isabella Mascioli (Windsor). Beloved sister-in-law of the late Liberata Parisse & Pasquale Aschiarolo, the late Angelino & Imola Parisse, the late Antonio & Ada Parisse, the late Ida & the late Gino Mascioli, Derna & the late Giuseppe Dominici, Ottavia & Virgilio Martellini, Anna & the late Pietro Lucaioli, Pietro & the late Ida Parisse, and cugina Erminia Arcieri (all of Italy). Rosa is remembered by many nieces & nephews in Canada & Italy.
Rosa was a hard worker & devoted her life in Canada to her family. She was passionate about her sauce making, vegetable garden & baking. She was an exceptional cook. We were so blessed to have been recipients of her delicious chicken brodo (the healing broth), homemade gnocchi, lasagna & polenta. She was well known for her famous amaretto cookies. Rosa was an accomplished, self-taught seamstress. She took pride in the making of clothing and curtains, especially her lovely dresses & beautifully tailored coats.
Our family would like to thank the staff at the Heritage Green Nursing Home for their excellent care of our mother over the last several years.
Mom, you will be forever missed and always in our hearts. You take with you the mountains of love, your golden heart, and a piece of each of our hearts. Thank you for all you have taught us to help us throughout our lives. We love you today and forever.
A private mass and celebration of life has been held.
In kindness, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society or the Hamilton Burlington SPCA or Heritage Green Nursing Home would be appreciated.
Mai dimenticate sempre ricordata, sarai sempre nei nostri cuori.
