Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Patrick McDonald, 74, of Oakville, passed away on April 26, 2023 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
Ron was born on December 27, 1948 to Eva and Charles in Grand Falls, Newfoundland. Beloved husband to Judy (nee Buchanan) for 49 years. Loving father to Paul and Andrea (Zandro Chan); and proud grandfather to Asher and Ryder. Survived by his sister Linda, brother Dennis. Predeceased by his brother Jack. Uncle to Jackie, Dennis, Stephen, and Natalie.
Ron was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 39 years. In his retirement Ron enjoyed restoring his 1966 Rambler Rebel, yard sales, and anything nostalgic. Ron loved classic cars and he could tell you the year and make at a glance, along with all the historical facts. He was an avid Euchre player and if you weren’t playing Bid Euchre, you were missing out. He made friends easily and was known for his great sense of humour and quick wit. If you ever needed something done, Ron always knew a guy who knew a guy.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. As per his wishes Ron will be returned home to Grand Falls, Newfoundland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CNIB Foundation or The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 114). Please sign the Tribute Wall.
