It is with sadness that we announce the passing of
Ronald Milledge “Ron” Chase,
80, of Sackville. Ron
passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Sunday
January 22, 2023 after a brief illness. Born in Sackville, he was a
son of the late Basil and Delavine (Wheaton) Chase.
Ron worked with Corrections Canada at the Dorchester
Penitentiary for 29 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed being at his camp and spending time out
doors, working in the garden or flower beds, on his tractor, or riding
on his snowmobile. Ron was
an avid hunter and fisherman, and liked camping, in particular at
Murray Corner and digging for clams. He could often be found
tinkering in his garage and was always reliable for a helping hand if
someone needed it.
He was particularly fond of his pussycat, Little
Girl who will miss him dearly.
Ron will be missed by his common-law partner, Nancy
Stymiest, Sackville; his daughter, Susan (Kevin) Tower, Sackville; two
grandchildren, Logan Tower and Victoria (Luke) Milner, as well as two
great-grandchildren, Madison and Allison Milner; two brothers, Alec
(Marie) Chase and Phillip (Sherry Chapman) Chase; stepsons, Martin,
Merle, James and Ephriam Stymiest, in addition to several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his
brother Dolan.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street,
Sackville (506-364-1300). Honouring Ron’s wishes,
cremation has taken place and there are to be no visitations or
services.
