Ronald E. “Ron” Kinder, Sr. – beloved husband and father, and adored grandfather. Born April 21, 1954, Ron was a native Knoxvillian and lived in Knox County the majority of his life. Ron departed this life on Thursday, January 5, 2023, after a brief illness. A 1972 graduate of Carter High School, he lettered in football all four years. He then attended Johnson Bible College and graduated from Southeastern College, Lakeland, FL in 1979. Ron worked as a design engineer all of his professional life, most recently for EXP Services, Inc. from which he retired in 2021.
Preceded in death by mother, Betty Armstrong Kinder; father, C.E. Kinder; son, David Kinder; and daughter, Jennifer C. Kinder.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Laura Beth (Gates) Kinder; son, Ronald E. Kinder, Jr. and wife Kellie Kinder; step children, Katie (Wiggins) Spangler and Alexander Wiggins; aunt, Lillian (Asa) Carpenter Bishop; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The absolute pride and joy of his life were his grandchildren, Destiny D. Speers, Tristan G. Speers and Elliana Z. Spangler. They were all four devoted to each other and gave as much time and attention as possible to each other.
The family will receive friends 1:00- 2:30 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by a procession to Caledonia Cemetery for a 3:00 PM graveside service with Rev.
