The family of Roger Chaplin are deeply saddened to announce his passing on February 24th,
2023 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 73.
Roger was born in Coventry, England and came to Canada with his family as a young boy,
enjoying many opportunities and adventures in Alberta and BC throughout his life.
He was a skilled tradesman, wise outdoorsman, talented artist, passionate baker, and avid
gardener. Roger was known for his tall tales and British pride. He loved his chats with family,
friends, and neighbours in the town of Turner Valley, AB where he spent his retirement days. He
had a big heart and little quirks, the combination of which made him the special man he was.
Roger will be forever missed by his partner Eileen, and their two loyal puppies Buddy and Loki;
fondly remembered by his children Craig (Cheryl), Kendra (Rob), Kevin (Katie); and always
adored by his grandchildren Dominic, Aiden, Ashlynn, Kayla, Hannah, and Jack.
Roger was predeceased by his brother Brian, and his parents Bert and Enid Chaplin.
The family will be doing a private celebration of life at a later date, up in the Kananaskis
mountains where Roger loved to spend his time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
