Rodney’s Obituary
It is With great sadness we announce the passing of Rodney Leonard Rideout. He passed away on February 24th, 2023, at the age of 63, surrounded by his loving family at James Peyton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL.
Rodney was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his mother, Maud Rideout; son, Justin (Lona); daughter, Sarah (Mike); his pride and joy grandchildren, Kolby, Makaila and Gavin; as well as his siblings. Debbie (Wayne), Don, Peter (Tina), Dean, Jeff (Donna) and Michael (Karyn); former spouse, Dianne Mullett, many nieces and nephews who were held close to his heart and a wide circle of other family and friends.
Rodney was predeceased by his father, Leonard Rideout.
Rodney will be remembered for his love for the water, and his helping hand wherever it was needed. He was proud to have worked along side of so many colleagues during his 30 plus years of service with marine Atlantic.
We are so blessed to have had a father who loved his family so dearly. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte on Tuesday, February 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
The Funeral Service will take place from the Salvation Army Citadel on Wednesday, March 1st at 2 PM.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to The Janeway or The Children Wish Foundation, will be gratefully accepted.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
