December 3, 1941 to February 3, 2023
Barry passed peacefully in the early morning of Friday, February 3rd, 2023. In the final months he always said that he has had a wonderful life.
He leaves behind his wife Janice, daughter Joanne, son Paul (girlfriend Karen), daughter Clair (Son-in-law Scott), grandson Stuart (partner Pascale), granddaughters Amanda (fiancé Jesse), Vicky (boyfriend Mike), Sophia (boyfriend Massimo), Alysha and Abi, his 2 great grandchildren Emma and Elliot, his sister Susan (husband Brian), his dog Rosie and many friends who all loved him dearly.
He was a man with a huge heart, who enjoyed chatting with everyone, friends, family and strangers. He always had a smile on his face and a happy hello with a little chit chat to follow. He loved long walks with his dogs (present and past), gardening, and cruises. Throughout his life he enjoyed photography, leaving many pictures for us to enjoy. He also enjoyed long bike rides alone, with his wife or with a group. In the final years of his life and as his memory started to fade he spoke often of a bike trip he made as young man of maybe 17, early in the morning he left his cousin’s home in Yorkshire and biked all the way home to Billericay, Es arriving in the early evening, this memory stayed strong and clear and spoke to how simple accomplishments were what was important to him. He was a man that found all the happiness he needed and wanted in the love of his family, friends, pets and simple pleasures.
We would like to thank the staff at the Sunrise in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, especially those working on the 3rd floor for the love and support they showed him in his final months. It was a great comfort to know that they truly cared about him. Every time we visited there was always an activity going on, the favorite one being ballon tennis. It touched our hearts to see the constant hugs they shared with him and the tender care they took of him. In our Husband/Father’s words from the bottom of all our hearts thank you so very much to all you wonderful “LOVEYS”.
In lieu fo flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Animatch.
