Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert James Deir announces his peaceful passing on June 5, 2023 at the age of 64. He was surrounded by his loving family at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor.
Robert is predeceased by his father, Hubert Deir and sister, Shirley Carey. Robert leaves to mourn with loving memories his devoted daughter Brenda Bouzane (Shannon). Also leaving to mourn his loving family; mother Mary Deir, sisters Mary Tremblett (Bob), Roseann Walsh (Tone), Dinah Sparkes (Doug), brother Hubert Deir Junior (Denise), as well as, other relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Robert Retired from the co-op in 2006 where he worked as a grocery clerk for 27 years. He always had a big friendly smile and was well known and liked for his kind, outgoing personality and hearty laugh. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved the simple joys of berry picking, gardening, weekend trips to the cabin with the family or his work friends, where they had lots of laughs, a good “scoff” and a few sociables. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and he loved music to no end; he faithfully enjoyed the “Cabin Party” and “Jigs ‘N’ Reels”. Heaven gained another “Angel” who was a loving father, son, and brother. Forever missed and lovingly remembered in our hearts. Fly high with the angels, until we meet again.
The family is forever grateful to the staff at CNRHC (Emerg., 4A, 3A), palliative care nurses and Carmelite House staff for their compassion and care given to Robert over the past 8 weeks.
Interment will be held at Anglican Cemetery, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor.
