Obituary For Riley John Mihalicz
June 14, 1991 – February 25, 2023
It’s with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Riley John Mihalicz on February 25, 2023.
Riley is survived by his father Chester Mihalicz, and step-mother Tanya Mihalicz, his Mother Kori (Ken) Bechtoldand and grandmother Bonnie Bechtold. He is forever remembered by his three siblings, Krystal (Simon) Mihalicz, Kara Mocan and Noah Mihalicz, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
Riley is pre-deceased by his Grandparents, Chester and Margaret Mihalicz, and Roger Bechtold.
Riley was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan on June 14, 1991. He was a true spitfire from day one! His passion for life shone through brightly with his energy, curiosity, and willfulness. Riley loved learning new things, was always up for an adventure, and was never afraid to take risks. His BMX bike can attest to that! He lived life in the fast lane- taking in all he could at every given moment. Most notably though was his uncanny ability to connect with people. His love for life shone through brightly with his charismatic personality. He was fun and silly, loved to make people laugh, and was very loyal to those he loved. He was always there to lend a hand, be the shoulder to lean on, the listening ear or the hug you needed on a bad day.
Throughout Riley’s life, his family numbers grew with great lifelong close friendships that he treasured. He took great pride in being a brother, always being supportive and expressing his pride in things well done and accomplished, and he was looking forward to seeing his younger sister graduate this year. He loved animals and shared his life and love with pets along the way.
Although Riley’s life in the fast lane at times led to poor decisions and setbacks, he was not afraid of hard work. He continuously tried to get back on track and catch up, but never giving up. He found a passion working in the oil and gas industry, apprenticing as a pipefitter. He was happy with the hard work he was doing there and proud of what he was accomplishing.
Riley had a beautiful smile that would light up a room and a hug that would make you feel loved. He was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. He could be completely strong-willed, or utterly relaxed depending on the situation. He lived his life without fear and was always true to himself. He left this world with true integrity. He built friendships and relationships that will last a lifetime, left cherished memories that will never be forgotten and left enough love in our hearts to last an eternity.
We will be holding a non-formal Celebration of Life for Riley on June 10, 2023, in Regina at 1430 Princess St. at 3:00pm for anyone who wishes to attend. If you wish to say something in Riley’s memory, you are encouraged to do so.
Food and non- alcoholic beverages will be provided, alcoholic drinks are welcome if you wish to send Riley off with a toast! We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
