Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Thomas Fowler of Mount Carmel, St. Mary’s Bay on Sunday, July 30th, 2023. A beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend.
He was predeceased by his parents; Richard and Kathleen (nee Hawco) Fowler and parents-in-law; Patrick and Margaret (nee Casey) Hunt.

Richard was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Council #13320 Knights of Columbus and was actively involved in all aspects of his parish. He spent many hours, days and weeks working to build up Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Parish, especially the church and cemetery. Richard was a person of strong faith, he strongly believed that “the man above” was in charge. His carpentry skills were used and vastly appreciated in Conche, his second favourite place, repairing the Hunt homestead.
He will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. A special thank you to the staff of 4 North A at the Health Sciences Centre for their excellent care. The family would also like to thank his doctors, Dr. Debra Bergstrom and her team for their care and professionalism.
