Rev George Henry Bussey, born June 25, 1925, in Montreal, QC, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the age of 98.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Suzanne Bussey (nee Lapointe). He is survived by his 4 children (Stephen, Susan, Timothy and Janice), as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. George will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law, friends and former congregation members.
George began working for the Canadian Pacific Railway at the age of 16, and when WWII broke out, he left to join the Canadian Navy and became a Radar Operator. Discharged February 1946, George returned to work for CPR as secretary to the Vice President, but after feeling the call of God, George entered Eastern Pentecostal Bible College, in Peterborough ON, September 1951, to begin his studies for the ministry. Graduating in 1954, George pastored churches in Campbellton NB, New Bandon NB, Truro NS, Rosemount (Mtl) QC and Cornwall ON.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Liberty Pentecostal Church in Bowmanville, ON (1965 Bowmanville Ave.) on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:30 PM.
