Obituary
Pastor and dedicated follower of Jesus, Rev. Donald J. Arbeau ‘s life has not ended with his passing; he has simply taken his final flight to the sunny shores of sweet deliverance. As the day broke dawn on June 16th, 2023 at the Moncton City Hospital, Daddy took his final breath on this earthly sod to be reunited with the love of his life Eleanor. Daddy was born October 8, 1931 on the Miramichi River where he still called home. He met and married the love of his life Eleanor Sullivan in March 1951 from that day onward they served their Lord together. He loved our mother with an unwavering love until her God called her home in February 2021.
Daddy was a hard worker; owning trucks, driving school bus, and providing a wonderful life for his large family; he sacrificed everything for us. In 1973 feeling the call of the lord he moved his family to Riverside, Albert County NB where he continued the work as pastor of the United Pentecostal Church there. In creating his legacy as a Church Plater in 1988, he founded the New Life Pentecostal Church in Hillsborough, NB. In 2006 he then founded Apostolic Lighthouse Church where he remained as Pastor of both congregations until his passing. As a fisher of men, he also had a love of fishing and could often be found reeling in a salmon on the great Miramichi River. He was never one to back down from a good discussion and was often engaged in sharing how he was right.
Left behind in grave sadness Daddy is survived by his seven sons and two daughters Mark (Mavis) of Blissfield, Marg (Ron) Miller of Moncton, Nilah (Randy) McLean of Weldon, Gerald (Susan) of Germantown, Royce (Sharron) of Hillsborough, Gaius (Rose Anne) of Weldon, Rev. Quincy (Cathy) of Lower Coverdale, Nathan (Annette) of Riverview and Rev. Donald R. (Joanne) of Riverview. He is survived by 24 grandchildren, Julie, Penny, Jennifer, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Cheryl, Shonda, Alexander, Jeremy, Kimberly, Ellen, Royce, Kara-Lee, Joshua, Caitlin, Mitchell, Kyle, Lacy, Tiffany, Nathaniel, Allana, Dwight, Victoria, Matthew, Amy, Vanessa and Amanda; and numerous great grandchildren whom he loved dearly; his sister, Kathryn Arsenault (Don Coleman).
As the last remaining member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his parents Herman and Martha Arbeau, his in-laws Rev. & Mrs. A.R. Sullivan and his grandson, Robert Arbeau. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lacy, his loving granddaughter who provided such love and care for him over the last year. To the nurses at the Moncton City Hospital and his long-time family doctor, Dr. James Stewart, for all compassion and exceptional care over the years.
Visitation at Apostolic Light House Church (Bayley Rd, Riverview) on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Homegoing Service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00 am from the church sanctuary. Interment will follow in Upper Blackville, NB.
