It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reginald Chant announces his sudden passing at home on January 2nd, 2023 at the age of 80 . Born in LaPoile, Reginald was the son of the late Philip and Bessie Chant.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Violet Chant (nee King) of 57 years, children; Gordon (Marlene) Chant, Wade (Shelley) Chant, Craig (Tammy) Chant, Randy (Vanessa) Chant, grandchildren; Maureen (Chris) LeRiche, Wanda (Gary) Taylor, Crystal Chant, Cody Chant (Ashley Keeping), Caylie Chant, Colson Chant, Jaden Chant, Dylan Chant, great grandchildren; Kathryn Wells, Ashton Taylor, Bentley Taylor, Jack LeRiche, Colton Chant. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Blanche Joiner, Shirley (Samuel) Ralph, Audrey Bateman, Nora Mavin, special niece Linda (Glenn) Elford, nephew Terry Chant (Cathy Follett), brothers and sisters in law, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Reginald was predeceased by his parents in law Blanche and Elmo King, brother in laws Marty Joiner, Clayton Bateman, and Tom Mavin.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 4th from 12:00 P.M to 2:00 P.M and 7:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M, and Thursday, January 5th from 12:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M, all from Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will take place Friday, January 6th at 11:00 A.M from Oceanside Funeral Home, with Rev. Dianna Fry officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations in memory of Reginald can be made to the family. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
