Providence Scolaro, a loving mother and beloved wife of late Anthony Scolaro for 67 years, passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2023, at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her adoring family.
Loving mother of Josephine Van Dusen (Robert), Jim (Allison St. Jean), Late Sal (Linda ), Joseph (Muriel Paton), Dorothy Anne Murdoch (John), Catherine Lewis (Brian) and John (Samantha). Much loved Grandma of Sarah (Gavin), Luke (Misia), John (Steph), Anthony, Robert, Ashling, Leigh (James), Daniel (Rosa), Neil, Michael (Sarah), Nicholas, Laura, Great Grandma to Elise,Tyson, James and Logan whom she cherished.
Daughter of the late Dorothea and Salvatore Polito and was predeceased by her siblings Joe (Mary), Lena (Ben), Chris (Reg) Len (Bernadette), Dom, She is survived by her brother Monsignor Mariano Polito and her sister-in-law Josie Polito.
Provi’s priorities were her family and her faith. She enjoyed many hobbies and playing cards with her friends. Her kind and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in their hearts forever.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel at 4933 Dundas St. W., (between Kipling & Islington Aves.) Etobicoke on Wednesday April 26 from 2-4 p.m. and & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, 1415 Royal York Rd., on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Interment Mount Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Vaughan Hospice in memory of Providence Scolaro. See the donation link below.
