Passed away peacefully and quite unexpectedly in Kemptville District Hospital on the morning of June 9th, in her 85thyear. Beloved wife of Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Brian Allan Reid of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery after almost 48 years of happy marriage, they used to joke that they only managed to rear Labrador Retrievers. However, this was more than compensated for by eighteen delightful and accomplished nieces and nephews.
They settled on the banks of Kemptville Creek in 1984 and enjoyed their waterfront home immensely, almost as much as they loved the people of North Grenville and their adopted home in the Rideau Valley.
Tish was an exceptional person, blessed with a warm and loving personality, a quick and delightful wit without a hint of cattiness, and tons of genuine artistic talents in fabric arts and crafts. After a career in the classroom and several years crafting commercially, she enjoyed a quarter century as a RVer and traveller in venues as varied as the Yucatan, Baja California, coastal Georgia and the Sonora Desert of Arizona. Patricia was blessed with good health for most of her life, only suffering from declining health in recent years. She faced misfortune with courage and went to her God with courage and anticipation. We miss her terribly, but anticipate seeing her bright smile and positive attitude once again.
Friends may visit the Kemptville Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 805 Prescott Street, Kemptville on Saturday July 8, 2023 from 12 noon until Service time in the Chapel at 1pm followed by a reception at the Funeral Home.
