Obituary of Misha Marcel Boulerice CHANGE IN VENUE
It is with deep sadness that we share news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Misha Marcel Boulerice in Fredericton, on February 28th, 2023 at the young age of 20.
Martin Boulerice and Anna Migchels were blessed with the birth of Misha on March 25th, 2002 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. As the ultimate protector of his younger sisters, Mélanie and Marie, he would go to the end of the world for them.
Misha was loved by his family: his grandparents, Marcel and Monique Boulerice; opa, Jan Reijers; his aunts and uncles, Marc Boulerice and Manon Desforges (Marek & Marina) from Whitehorse; Dirk and Keely Migchels (Emily, Wyatt, Elizabeth, & Sydney) from Calgary; Dico Reijers (Willem & Casey) from Stratford; Sjors and Laura Reijers (Calvin & Adele) from Charlottetown. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Harm and Ida Migchels and uncle Geert Migchels.
Inspired by Thomas the Tank Engine at the young age of two, it was no surprise that Misha would be a mechatronics engineering student at UNB. We watched him grow his passion for all the fine intricacies of life, like coming home from his first day at Stantec as a high school co-op student saying: “Maman, the whole building is full of people just like me… Just a little bit older.”
Misha touched each and every one he met. He took special care in what he did, whether it was making sure the quality of their stroopwafels were perfect for their SweetStack customers at the Boyce Farmers Market, helping fellow students in engineering, tinkering on bikes, or getting together with his close group of friends playing board or card games.
He always looked forward to the days he worked at Savage’s Bike Center as he truly adored his co-workers and was energized from meeting the Fredericton bike enthusiasts and inspiring others to get active.
Misha thrived in being active, and pushing his physical limits through numerous endeavours: speed skating, rowing, cross country running, playing Ultimate Frisbee, bouldering, and mountain biking in the Yukon. His ultimate passion of fixed gear biking on the Dirty Tuesday rides drove his Maman crazy ever since he broke his femur from a bike crash.
Thank you Misha for your lessons: your compassion and care for others, your intellectual wisdom, your dedication to active living, and your passion to learn. These made you exceptional and you will forever be dearly missed by all.
Love, Papa, Maman, Mélanie, & Marie
A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 10, at 2:00 pm, location to be announced. In honour of Misha’s “fabulous” sense of fashion, we ask that you wear your best casual plaid button up.
