WHITNEY, May (December 14, 1933 – June 29, 2023)
It is with sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend, May (nee Guthrie) Whitney, at the Stratford General Hospital, on June 29th, 2023, in her 90th year. May was born in Montreal, Quebec and has been residing at The Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock. May is lovingly remembered by her children: Julie Fisher (husband Les), of Simcoe; Tracey Whitney, of Toronto; Kristi Matthews (husband Todd), of RR1 Burgessville. Always a caring grandmother to Joshua Fisher (Babette), Chase Fisher; Serena Whitney (Elliot), Emmanuel Whitney-Alexander (Effie); Spencer Matthews, Mitch Matthews (Stephanie Poole). May is predeceased by her husband Richard Whitney (2013).
In keeping with May’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Everyone who knew May is invited to share favourite memories, photos and send condolences to her family via May’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com.
