Obituary of Mary Margaret Green
It is with sadness that the family of Mary “Mae” Margaret Green announce her passing at Central New Brunswick Nursing Home on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the age of 105. Mae was born in Upper Blackville, NB, on February 8, 1918, to the late Frederick and Josephine (Cashen) Carr.
Mae leaves behind her son, Leo S. Green; daughters, Angela Scott, Gloria Butts; grandchildren, Lorraine, Norman Jr., Todd, Heather, Edith, Meaghan, Yvonne, Sarah Green (Brian Perry), John Green (Karina Wong Chong), Michael Green, Katie Green (Wanda Pilié), James Doyle, Bill Doyle, Cathy Doyle, Lorraine Butts, Sherry Butts, Josephine Butts and Ivy Butts; many adored great grandchildren; nephew, Monte Carr; daughter-in-law, Angela Scott; Sarah’s mother, Joan, and a large extended family. Mae was predeceased by her first husband, George Howard Scott; her husband of over 40 years, Leo J. Green; son, Norman Scott; daughter, Leona Doyle (Joe); brothers, Allen Carr, Ashton Carr, Art Carr and ; sister, Carmen “Cam” Brown.
Mae enjoyed life; she enjoyed upholstering furniture, playing cards with friends, and travelling to visit friends and relatives.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from Brunswick Street Baptist Church on Sunday, March 26, 2023 commencing at 3:00 pm. with Rev. Greg Geldart officiating. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, donations in Mae’s memory may be made to Brunswick Street Baptist Church.
