It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Mary Johnson announce her passing from Alderwood Estates, Witless Bay, NL on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at the age of 90 years.
Mary was born in Fermeuse, NL on October 30th, 1932 , one of four girls born to Patrick and Mary Jane Kenny, As a young adult she moved to Renews to work and met her husband William (Willie). They married and had 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She had a lifelong devotion to St. Anne de Beaupre and helped countless people with her daily prayers.
Predeceased by her husband William, sons Reg, Paul and Brendan, sisters Rose Kenny (Derm). Josephine Greene( Mike) and Ann Hogan (Frank), parents Patrick and Mary Jane Kenny and parents in law, Johanna and Francis Johnson, sister in law Sister Mary Johnson, and Kitty O’Brien (Cecil).
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, Patsy (John), Jerry (Jose), Christine (Bill), Carl (Mercedes) , Anne Marie (Stewart), Doreen (Kelly), Colleen, Linda (Keith), and Scott (Cathy), daughter in – laws Paula Johnson and Paula Fitzgerald, grandchildren: Leanne (Jason), Alison (Matt, Alexandra and Aurora), Gail (Dennis, Devin), Bruce( Kelly, Khloe, Lauren, Madelyn), David (Shantell, Kloe , Scarlett, Kurtis), Will (Krista, Alexander, Jack), April(Chris, Lucas, Liam), Darcy (Deirdra, Ivy), Darnell (Amanda), Nathan (Jody, Mia, Ella) Mark (Taryl, Dylan, Van ), Brent (Holly, Rory), Lauren, Cassandra, Kelia (James, baby James), Samantha, Kennedy, Kristian, Jordan, Alassa, and special friend Frances Mulcahy . Also the Doody, Kenny and O’Brien families as well as a large number of friends in Renews.
A special thank-you to the musically filled Alderwood estates, their caring staff, to old friends rekindled and new friends met. Such a wonderful way to spend a couple of years .
Visitation Tuesday, February 14th from 2-9:00 PM at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John’s and Wednesday, February 15th 2-9:00 PM at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Fermeuse. On Thursday, February 16th at 11:00 AM mass will be held at Holy Apostles Church Renews. Cremation to follow. Burial will be held at a later date.
