It is with heavy hearts we regret to inform you, Mary Elaine Burns, age 71 of Cape Jack, formerly of Port Hawkesbury died suddenly from a heart attack at St. Martha’s Hospital on March 3rd, 2023.
Elaine was pre-deceased by her parents, Tom and Aggie Burns; and sister, Jean-Marie (Gerard). She is survived by her partner, David DeCoste; sons, James Cahill (Melissa) of Port Hawkesbury, Craig Langley (Angela) of Monastery, Chad Langley of Cape Jack; her step-daughters, Marsha DeCoste (Ricky) of Linwood, Melissa DeCoste (Justin) of Merland; 9 grandchildren; brothers, Gary, David (Evelyn), Allan (Wanda); and sisters, Patricia (Billy), Shelley (Darren); her close friend and mother-in-law, Theresa DeCoste; and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine had a big heart, a playful sense of humor, and many friends in her lifetime. She enjoyed baking, loved her work helping and caring for the elderly, and sharing how proud she was of her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by many.
Funeral Service details will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made to St. Paul’s Luncheon Fund in her memory.
